About Me

I am Tanushree Das. I live in Surrey and work in London as a program manager in the tech industry — presentations by day, stories by heart.
Over the years, I’ve learned that life doesn’t always unfold in neat chapters. Sometimes, it spills. Sometimes, it shatters. And sometimes, if we’re lucky, it softens. I write to make sense of all of it.

I have a creative bend of mind and find comfort in the grounding rituals of painting, writing, cooking, and the slow, meditative rhythm of pottery. I take long walks with my dog through Surrey woodlands and sit at café windows, watching strangers pass — not in a creepy way, I promise. Just enough to wonder about the lives they’re carrying. I often get their stories wrong, but that doesn’t stop me from imagining.

Some of my favourite books — like Tuesdays with Morrie — have taught me that storytelling doesn’t need to be loud to be powerful. Quiet voices can echo too. But I also find inspiration in a wide range of genres: from the raw intimacy of Burnt Sugar, the emotional depth of Transcendent Kingdom, and the rich world-building of The Henna Artist, to the life lessons in The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari, the unapologetic boldness of The 48 Laws of Power, and the behavioral insights of Switch by Chip and Dan Heath.

I created Tanu Reflects as a home for my reflections — a place to hold the quiet, the vulnerable, and the in-between moments. Though I may come across as an extrovert, I’m very much an introvert at heart — someone who thrives in her own company and finds comfort in solitude. I often keep my thoughts to myself, and this blog is my way of giving those thoughts a place to land.

If you’re someone who feels deeply and thinks often, I hope you find something here that speaks to you.

You can also find me on Instagram, where I share snippets of slow thoughts and everyday beauty.
